Most families never have this conversation, or do so only after it's too late

Real scams are arriving in inboxes every day, written by people who do this professionally, tested by the thousands, and aimed at whatever you happen to be worried about that week. Reading about them is a start. Rehearsing for them is better.

$7.7B
reported lost by Americans 60 and older in a single year, across 201,000 complaints.
FBI IC3 Elder Fraud Report, 2025
$38,000
the average loss per victim — more than twice what younger victims lose.
FBI IC3 Elder Fraud Report, 2025
87.5%
of people taken by someone they know keep it to themselves. Silence is what these operations count on.
AARP, The Scope of Elder Financial Exploitation
46%
of adult children say they're worried about a parent and unsure where to start.
Cornerstone Advisors, 2,500 consumers

That last statistic is why we built this. People are concerned. The trouble is that "we should talk about scams sometime" is a sentence with nowhere to go. Elderus Fraud Drill gives it somewhere to go.

How it works

Two people, five minutes to set up, then you wait for something to arrive.

1

You both sign up

Enter both participants below. You'll each get an email in your inbox. Enrollment happens there, one person at a time.

2

A practice scam arrives

A realistic message of the kind that exists in the wild. Which one, and when, stays a surprise. It's a safe way to experience this.

3

You find out what it was simulating

If you click, you land on a page explaining exactly what made it convincing. Either way you open a door for conversation.

A shared experience

You both take part, on purpose. Adult children are as susceptible as their parents - so you're finding out together, and whatever turns up is something you both learn.

Retired engineers get caught by these. So do bank managers, and a prosecutor last year. What a drill measures is whether a professional caught you at the wrong sixty seconds, and everyone gets caught sometimes.
